For Teachers
Welcome, teachers! Most of our programs focus on students in Grades 8-12. We offer three programs that can aid your teaching of American government, history, and Catholic citizenship:
A “Washington experience” week each summer, held at Catholic University of America. Students obtain firsthand experience in government, as they meet Catholic elected officials, visit key government sites, and enjoy a mock congress. We also explore a variety of Catholic heritage sites in the Washington, D.C. area.
A three-day program in a number of state capitals, where we focus on Catholic citizenship at the state level, and help students become familiar with the ways in which they can participate in their state government
A government curriculum and textbook that is in production, to be released in early 2010. This will be the first authentically Catholic civics and government text – tough to believe, isn’t it? Click here to receive updates on the book’s progress, and to help shape its content. (Quinton, I think we’ll insert a brief contact form under the e-mail address textbook@catholicyouthleadership.org)
